More Than Words

I read this book this weekend. There is one particular sentence and line that leapt out at me it was so beautiful. And perfect. I would share it with you but I only borrowed the book and read it like a I was a drunk with a new bottle of wine. I read it so quickly that I'm still digesting it and I need to go get my own copy so I can write in the margins and highlight my favorite parts.

There is just something about reading that wakes me up and makes me feel alive again. Especially a really, really good book that I can whiz through because the writing is delicious and the story is worth following. They remind me why I love reading so much. It humanizes me, tenderizes me, makes me aware of fellow travelers on the path of life.

I love a good book.

I read this book last September (2009). It's still with me, mentally. A masterpiece. And, as a Southerner, I can say: true.

Oooohh, this is on my list of all time favorite books, and I hear it's a great listen as well (her southern accent is supposed to be great to listen to...)

Eden,
I read this book a few months ago. I so wish we could have our own 'book club' and chat about it together.... I read it really quickly as well, partly because it just draws you in and partly because it was already due at the library! I loved how different and believable each of the voices sounded.

P.S. Did I already tell you about the Jicama-Tomato-Black Bean recipe I found? I made it again tonight and it is SO delicious and healthy. I think you would like it too... .

Julie--I'm with you. Sounds like it was such a great book that we need a chance to talk about it. Are you done yet?

Beverly, Amanda, Hadley, Lori, Jana--what do you think? Want to write a paragraph on your favorite parts of the book? Or I could send out book club questions and everyone could answer one question from their perspective?

Jana--I want that recipe! Please send my way and I will post it for everyone.

I finished this a few months ago, and absolutely LOVED it. It's number two on my list of favorite books, right behind A Thousand Splendid Suns. I loved the lyric quality of the writing, and felt like I could almost hear the voices as I read them. Phenomenal book!
